Project Brief

Week 1: The Camera Obscurer: Experience the earliest camera ‘the camera obscurer. You will then record reactions to the Camera Obscurer and look at the work of artists that use these processes, discussing how you could expand findings into personal ideas.

Complete an A3 analysis on the Camera Obscurer.

Week 2: The Camera (Pinhole cameras),: You will be introduced to the pinhole camera and create a range of different images, while looking at the work of artists that use these processes, once again discussing how you could expand findings into personal ideas.

Week 3: The Darkroom: Your experiments into early forms of photography will continue, looking briefly at cameraless photography looking at the work of artists that use these the processes such as photograms and cyanotype, once again discussing how you could expand findings into personal ideas.

Week 4: The Darkroom: You will continue your exploration, by looking ay modern ways of using old photographic techniques, scanning images into the computer and manipulating.


Week 5: Develop Ideas Based on the theme of ‘everyday’ Write down explanations of two ideas and how to create them to help you produce a sheet of final developed experiments


Week 6: Final outcomes:.Your pieces will be submitted by the end of the week and mounted with an evaluation of the project.
